This product, however, had not been available for several years now. “We have decided to restart production due to the growing popularity of the W124/S124 series, of which the first model years are already of classic-car age,” reports Managing Director Marcus Lorinser.
The relaunched component is 100 percent identical with the original design. As “contemporary tuning” it does not put the classic-car appeal at risk in any way. This is not “new old stock”, though, but rather a completely newly manufactured product. So there is no risk of material aging or loss of softeners. “To fully preserve the original design, we use the original plans and tools for production,” explains Lorinser. This enables the company to manufacture the parts without additional development costs and consequently offer them with attractive pricing: The roof spoiler is available from as low as 590 euros. The version with an integrated brake light costs 100 euros more. Both variants are supplied primed and ready for painting. At additional cost, Sportservice Lorinser can also provide a paint finish in the chosen color.
When it comes to alloy wheels, “contemporary tuning” has also recently become possible for the 124 Series again. The Lorinser LO monoblock wheel is the re-release of an in-house design classic from the 1980s. The standard silver-painted wheel is particularly eye-catching with its polished horn.
